Seattle is a city with a rich musical history that sometimes distracts from what is currently happening. There are numerous individualized scenes that somehow rarely mix with one another. However, this allows for a diverse music landscape with each scene focusing on different appealing aspects of punk/hardcore/grunge/whatever. Sometimes it feels alienating and lonely, but the drive to do things your way and wear your influences on your sleeve is ubiquitous in this city. –Tom Lowell
